How It Works

Dr. Nowak uses the Accusculpt Laser-Liposuction technology because it’s the most accurate and specific wave length available to target the unwanted fat. It’s safer and less likely to target the skin (vs. heat the skin) so there’s no chance of burning the skin to leave marks or indentations as can happen with the other technologies or inexperienced aesthetic practitioners who have little training.

This procedure utilizes the tumescent technique that is performed with safe local anesthesia so no general anesthesia or IV sedation is needed. It’s then followed by the laser to heat to melt fat deposits making them easier to remove.

In, addition, Dr. Nowak utilizes the power-assisted technology which rapidly moves the small cannula back and forth so it glides easily through the tissue removing small amounts of fat at a time. This movement creates a vibration that some patients describe as being similar to a massage providing greater patient comfort.

Next, Ulthera ultrasound skin tightening is applied to tighten and smooth your skin. What makes Ulthera technology different is the way it allows the surgeon to look into the skin to find the right level or layer to be targeted. The second ultrasound delivers ultrasonic heat specifically at that desired level to then heat tissue that lifts and tightens loose skin without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. Ultherapy also creates new collagen which helps the skin maintain its youthfulness. This procedure also reduces the appearance of stretch mark and scars.

What to Expect

Patients may have some bruising or swelling after treatment, but these will fade as healing progresses. Typically, a patient is asked to walk one or two more miles the day after their procedure and can add other exercises after one week.

Shortly after your procedure, you should see a noticeable difference in your shape which will continue to improve as swelling subsides. Although results can be seen both immediately as well as over time as sagging, wrinkled skin is replaced with smoother, younger-looking skin. The best results are seen six months after treatment.
