Now available at Nowak Aesthetics in San Diego, CA, Fotona’s NightLase technology is an innovative laser treatment designed to increase collagen production in the oral mucosa tissue, thus minimizing snoring and symptoms of sleep apnea.
NightLase addresses issues associated with sleep apnea and snoring by using gentle laser energy to heat and tighten the oral mucosa tissue.
As the tissue is heated, collagen production skyrockets, resulting in a tightening effect that helps relieve snoring, sleep apnea, and more.
NightLase is simple yet highly effective, with a significant success rate in patients showing positive changes in their sleep. After a course of NightLase treatments, patients often report feeling better rested and energized. There are no chemicals associated with the treatment, making NightLase a gentle yet effective solution to issues related to sleep apnea.
What causes snoring?
Snoring occurs when the air is not able to move freely through your nose and mouth during sleep. This is due to a narrowing of your airway, which causes the tissues to vibrate and make an audible sound. In extreme cases, the airway can become blocked which is known as obstructive sleep apnea.
Many factors can contribute to snoring such as:
- Nasal and sinus problems
- Becoming overweight
- Sleep posture
What is the impact of snoring?
Snoring has a number of consequences that can impact the life of a snorer and his/her sleep partner. Sleep deprivation as a result of snoring has a negative impact on health and quality of life.
Snorers can experience:
- Morning headaches
- Irritability Dry mouth
- Relationship difficulties
NightLase has been used to:
- Reducing Snoring
- Minimize issues associated with sleep apnea
- Help clients get a good night’s rest
What to expect from NightLase treatments
The NightLase treatment is surprisingly effective, despite requiring little to no downtime after treatments. The laser heat is applied inside the mouth, targeting mucosal tissues such as the oropharynx, soft palate, and uvula. The heat is gentle enough for sensitive mouths. After each treatment, patients can continue with their normal routines.
Clients should undergo at least three treatments spaced out over six weeks. Results last for up to a year; after twelve months, clients will need to undergo additional treatments to maintain results.
